DMX, Nas, Lil' Kim, Lil Jon To Hit The Road; Nas Planning New LP
IP: DF45 9C15
In a couple of weeks, fans will get a chance to go visit the Dog, the Queen Bee, Mr. "Half Man, Half Amazin' " and the rowdy MC that comedian Chris Rock says resembles a "Muppet." Although it may sound like some crazy circus exhibition, it's actually a string of concert dates featuring DMX, Lil' Kim, Nas and Lil Jon.
According to a spokesperson for X, on some dates Jon and Nas will alternate as the opening acts and at others both will perform. Lil' Kim and headliner DMX are scheduled to perform at all of the shows. Last month, X, Kim and Nas performed a couple of shows in Pittsburgh and Morgantown, West Virginia.
X, Nas, Kim and Jon will also be a part of the Hip-Hop Hood Fest in Detroit on October 18 along with Ludacris protégé Chingy and rap newcomer Lilac. From there, the trio's jaunt is scheduled to continue at least through the beginning of November. X's rep says more show dates might be added soon if the rappers' schedules permit them.
Regardless of whether he continues to hit venues with his peers, DMX won't be coming off the road anytime soon. He has a slew of spot dates scheduled throughout the months of November and December. The ornery rap veteran is also gearing up to shoot the second video off his Grand Champ LP, "Get It on the Floor," in the next few weeks. Fellow Ruff Ryder Swizz Beatz will join him for the clip.
Meanwhile, Nas is getting ready to record another LP. According to a source close to the poetic MC, he'll be heading back into the studio soon with plans to drop his next solo LP in April. On January 27, however, Nas' Ill Will Records will drop the Bravehearts' debut, Bravehearted. The LP features production by L.E.S. and the Midi Mafia, as well as guest spots from Nas and Lil Jon.
Both Nas and Jon appear on the group's first single, "Quick to Back Down," which is already at radio. The video for the track is scheduled to go into production later this month.
Jon will produce a compilation album for TVT Records entitled Crunk Christmas, which drops on December 9. Jon and his East Side Boyz will also drop a DVD called "Part II" on November 25.
