(voice one) Roger...over and out (voice two) God help us CHORUS: If you were me-*in my position*-what would you have done ask yourself that question before you try to judge would you risk it all-*would you risk it*- to save another life or would you ignore your conciense its up to you to decide "*......*" means background voice/echo VERSE 1: (Departure) Day one will I survive the barage of bullets from the sky? freindly fire and casualties are at an all-time high this battle means liberation for some twenty countries but still Im not sure what any of this has to do with me suddenly were ready to leave and with a gun in my hand I stand up on the plane hoping to be alive when I land look to man in front of me he is shaking violently and behind me is a man praying for his family these are the brothers that I have grown to know I hate to think that many of them would not be going home I wake from my thoughts to realize that this wasnt just a dream I leap out of my safe haven to fight at 5000 feet CHORUS: VERSE 2: (The Second Front) Day two and the sky is black...June 5, 1944 D-Day has finally arrived and I survived the "storm" but am I on my own searching for survivors of our mission survey the land that had been my final destination after hours of scouring I pass upon four men from my team we debate over leadership and who has the heirarchy after discussion it was decided the responsibility was on me to guide us safely into the lands of normandy we marched for what seemed to be days the rain made it worse and my mission was starting to fade through swamps and waste high riverse we'd wade to save the day we'd say while traveling rough terrain and finally we reached the beach but it was no pleasant seen boats were landing on the shore and shot by submarines we four took the lead and fighting valiently in only ten minutes out of the four it was only me CHORUS: VERSE 3: (The Night War/Aftermath) The rain upon my back soaked clothes and heavy shoe's made it hard to keep on runnin when I knew I was gonna lose but perserverance was my mission and failure was not an option there wasn't time to stop and evaluate all of the losses my eyes racing like my pulse and I hear every beat look to my left and see a man shot in the head fall from his feet to my right is an explosion and I watch my friend lose a leg I run to his aid and nurse the wound but still he bled pick him up and carry him through the cold rain this night is a night of pain and bloodstains his screaming in agony was gettin into my head then pain came from my leg as I took in the hot lead plunge towords the ground and I could feel the hatred rising the ones I came to liberate I would end up despising some 50,000 men died that night including the one I tried to save rememberance of D-Day is a pain that I will take with me to the grave CHORUS: OUTRO: (Radio Anouncement) "D-Day" Has been considered a success...the nazi regime is fleeing back into the rhinelands...to the families of the soldiers who died on this tragic day the president of the united states and the united nations offer there deepest sypmathies...these brave men gave there lives up for peace and justice...let us give them all a moment of silence... http://www.rapbattles.com/forum/sho...&threadid=95297 http://www.rapbattles.com/forum/sho...&threadid=94245 http://www.rapbattles.com/forum/sho...=&postid=946402 holla Last edited by The RehaB™ : 11-29-03 at 08:47 PM. |
