Jay-Z returns as S. Carter, signs with Aftermath

IP:

Sunday, May 30, 2004

It seems like Jay-Z's talk about retiring was just that - talk. Jay-Z is back as S. Carter and is signing a one album deal with Aftermath Entertainment and Interscope Records, AftermathMusic.com reports.

The album would be entirely produced by Dr. Dre, who was also supposed to produce a song for last year's The Black Album. Unfortunately, the song didn't make the cut.

How about you do your research. Jay-Z recently said in an interview that he was just retiring "Jay-Z" and that he was going to continue recording under either "S. Carter" or "Sean Carter". He also stated that he's going to start his own label up within the next 3 years. The only news is about the 1-album deal with Aftermath. Which has been officially announced. It's not like I just heard it from somebody you dumb fuck, I never post news unless it's official. So please refrain from making ignorant posts if you do not know any factual information.

Aftermath? That isn't very bright of Jay-Z/S. Carter. Well, it could be, since that means that Dr. Dre would be doing the beats, which would be very awesome.

I also never stated that he left Roc-A-Fella. He is still under contract with them. Yet he finished fulfilling the requirements of his contract by recording a certain amount of albums. So he is free to record albums or songs for other labels if he wishes. However he is still under contract with Roc-A-Fella.

That is one of the dumbest things i have ever heard!!!!!!!!!!!

JayZ does not need to go to aftermath for Dre to produce a whole album for him, jay can afford that shit, while at his own label!!!!!!!
