yeah.....saving as an MP3 is the only way that I know how to do it. Are you sure you are uploading the right one? Maybe when you save it as an MP3 after you saved it as a wav. or whatever, it might be a completly different file.....just a suggestion

If that didn't work, try saving it as an MP3 again, but making it a different file from your last one. Like if your previous title for it was "...... diss" change it to "dissing ........" This way it will be a completely new file
