P. Diddy Settles Publishing with Lox
IP:
Lox member Styles P reportedly announced on Hot 97 today that P. Diddy no longer owns the group’s publishing. Referring to the outcome of a 45 minute meeting with Diddy and lawyers for both sides present Styles said, “He came back [with his offer] and I almost jumped out my seat. Basically, he gave us all our publishing back. In the business world, what he did, was like a four-leaf clover.”
Last month this site reported an on air clash between the Lox and Diddy, during which Styles called him a coward and thief. Styles aka 'The Ghost' chalks it up to miscommunication. “What he was saying was true, but what we were saying was true. Its an argument where you could say both sides were right.” Before the business meeting Styles and Diddy spoke via phone to iron things out. “He said, ‘I want to meet up, look y’all in the eye and speak as men. The bottom line is we can fix it’.” The situation he compared to slavery and Jadakiss said was worth dying and killing over is now “splendid” and “beautiful”. According to the Ghost, “What he did for us, he didn’t have to do.” As of November Diddy claimed his company had the Lox under contract for five more options (albums). No details about the settlement have been released. Now that his situation is better Styles echoes a point Diddy made on Hot 97 last month-artists don’t know the business. “I think the problem with the whole game is artists don’t stand for themselves.” P. Diddy has not released a statement regarding the settlement.
