Our technology today is constantly evolving. The Internet, Mobile communication, wireless connections, and computer-controlled performance management systems. It may come to a point where it is possible to create an artificial sentience, capable of independent thought and action. Supposing this were to come about, what rights would such a sentience have? Could we bare to share the very thing that sets us apart on this world, the Mind? Would they truely be beings, or just sophisticated tools, devices to be manipulated? Would they fall into a middleground? IS there a middleground?
Do androids dream of electric sheep?

In our lifetime?
They would just be sophisticated tools bro.. I dont think theres much point beyond novelty in science fiction books for humans to create a race of electronic beings. And I dont think there is any way we would ever have the ability to create a robot with the same level of complexity as a human being. Try making a robot sense unprogrammed raw emotion. |
