Im not sure if it is true....but i have heard you can diagnose the problem by the area of the red light.....each quadrant means something different. Im thinkin if u google that you should be able to find out exactly what the problem is.

If you ly the 360 down with the big button on the right side its the top left.
( that's the way I have mines)

If you have it standing straight up its the top right

Don't know if it helps any but I will try an google it in a little bit

yeh i dont know much about 360 but i used to buy ps3's for 150 and jus replace the blu ray drive. make about 100 a unit.....untill the recession that is.

Yeah, my 360 caught the red flashing light... mine was at the bottom right if you lay it down with big button on the right. I got the xbox support black screen with the code for what was wrong. E74. That shit basically meant part of the hardware was fried so it needs to be sent out for repair.

If your 360 is covered by the store guarantee, most places give between 1-3 years standard then you can take it back and cop a new one, no hassle. If the store guarantee has expired, but you still got it under extended warranty like I have.. you should have some type of leaflet/booklet that came with it when you bought the extended warranty. That will have a phone number... ring that and some mofo will come out to repair or take it away for repair... or supply you with a new one.

Mine broke down like 3 weeks ago and I still haven't phoned the fuckers up... I just can't be bothered at the moment. Computer games are sucking ass right now, so no motivation for the fix.

you got what's known as fucking idiot syndrome. the red ring of death is all four flashing lights... hence the "RING" part... he only has one flashing light. one light equals no ring. and the PS3 sucks.

wrong. 4 red lights means your cables are not hooked up, 3 red lights = RROD. i went through 4 360s until the 3 year warranty was up and when the last one got it and i could no longer get another refurbished one sent to me for free, i bought the arcade version for under 200 bucks and just used my old harddrive, no problems yet and supposedly the newer ones have less and less RROD problems. even though i've been through all that hassle and bullshit, i don't regret buying a 360 over a ps3. werd.
