^ actually if u can get a version that works properly FL studio is the best to start with, then reason after uve got an idea of what ur doing, which i ain't as far as reason goes

i havent used reason before but i can say that Fruity is good to start wit then u might wanna move onto something like Cube especially if u plan on using MIDI keyboards, VST/VSTi. Acid Pro is also nice if you plan on sampling and using loops. oh and Cubase SX can also use reason files so your not loosing out. MY best advice to u is to play around with different programs till u find 1 or 2 that u like.
