I sit here and think of the days gone by//
pinching the inside of my checks trying not the cry//
i told myself along time ago//
that no matter what i would hold in all this sorrow//

As i flip through old pictures that i kept locked away//
i remember how this young girl's smile lightened my day//
she use to run around with out a single care//
with little brown curls just like her dad's hair//

We knew from day one she'd be a magnificent star//
but for now she'd stick to stepping on those little blobs of tar//
A true drama queen right from the start//
bealting out made up songs from her little gold heart//

If asked a year ago what life would be without my little sweet-tart//
i wouldnt even be able to start, shes my whole life she owns my whole heart//
She spent every dark night with me cuddled in bed//
I'd lay there and pray to god to bless every curled hair on her head//

Maybe god didnt hear my many prayers to keep her under his wing//
because the doctor informed me that no longer was i going to hear her sing//
she had an estimated one year left of life//
and there was nothing to save her not even my own life//

That last ten months and a half we did everything together we were never apart//
it was the last time that i had everything around that filled my heart//
we did everything we wanted no questions asked at all//
even made our own record titled "the rise of an angel in fall"//

Forever and always this bubbly little girl will have a great chunk of me//
and every night of my life i will be found dreaming of her just sitting on my knee//
Shes the one who taught me all about love//
Shes the one who will be there waiting for me when i too make my journey to up above...

This is for Nyla my daughter who passed away at the age of 2

wow this was really nice...well i dont like it coz its true but i mean it had a lot of emotion and im sorry it happened...my son was recently born and the thowt of that is why i liked this so much...the only thing i thowt was weird was

I have a little girl, seven years old, and she is my life force, I do not think I would be as strong as you, if I were in your shoes. I got a lump in my throat just reading your words. I can tell you loved your little girl very much. I am so glad you got to make a song together, is there anyway we can hear it. that made me think of my first child...what she would have been...i got pregnant at 13 and i gave birth on my b-day...sadly she was stillborn...your poem about Nyla made me think of my beautiful angel daughter Tara...i'm sorry you had to go thru that...no mother should ever have to go thru that....once again i'm very sorry...and that was a very beautiful piece...you and Nyla are now in my prayrs as is Tara and her daddy.... mey he rest in hell for all eternity.....ok i gotta go now....god bless you and Nyla.... i hope you live a long full life with many years of happiness and may all your hopes and dreams come true...be thankful for the time you had with her and cherish it forever...you're very lucky to have had such time...
