iight I tried the battling, the spitting, and the dissing
I failed quickly and swiftly, because nobody bothered listening
Got people tellin me I should think of another career
Since my rhymes are too boring, and my shit ain't good enough to hear...
I don't see why extending my vocabulary use will make my words more meaningful and deep ...
I don't see why I can't just type what I really feel, and keep it simple and free
Everybody is givin props to those MCs that use tons of vocabulary and, every minute, have to look in the dictionary
But how are people supposed to feel the shit you say, if we ain't know what the word mean, and you ain't caring
I'm 15 years old, new to the poetry and rap battlin scene
I'm just tryin to write and post my shit, so I can get critiqued, but why ya'll gotta be so mean?
Now I remember Eminem said "If I lost a battle, it was the end" on his 8mile dvd
I finally understand how he felt, because it's what I'm feeling
I'm not asking to the best, I'm not asking for popularity
All I'm asking is for people to critique and like my spits, and to put some >flare< in me
