The loss of realness, the overwhelming fact that 60% of rhymes done mainstreem or semi underground--
Are written by ghost writers, most of them over fourty years old and white not from any kind of hood or
ghetto, and the censorship and protection of the ears of the 9 year old listeners who want their allowence,
early so there big brother can buy them a CD/

My opinion

i think what has happened is that the original rawest form of hiphop has been exploited and turned commercial, and in its irony that commercialization has come back and had an adverse influence on the original form of hiphop....gearing it more towards a commercialized setting....

It all depends on what you are listening to. And from what I've heard, it isn't going anywhere

Hell yeah it's been exploited, and commercialized to death. Anytime the MAN, sees that he can make money off of something he digs his hoofs in and drains it and fucks the shit up, until it's useless. This culture was forged in poverty, the elements Breakin graffiti & and raps were talents in the hood. The MAN hated it, broke it up, threw us in jail, and said it's just a passing phase. People called Masters of Ceremonies prided themselves as the one who could rock the party the best, breakers battled mc's battled, and the decreped buildings around them severed as a suitable canvas for the graf artists, trying to out do each other. When the sugar hill gang hit, and sold a nice amount of records, the MAN was like Whoa! we can get paid off of this silly crap. So then the MAN offered dough to the hungry ghetto Masters of Ceremonies. They became stars, they had expensive joggin suits, big rope chains, but they still cared about the hood, the hood cared about them. So as the subject matter became more broad a conscience effort, was expressed in the late 80's to stop the self destruction, but that shit was all good but what's always more interesting than GOOD, BAAAAAD. So the MAN, began signing up gangsters, to tell their explicit stories.. on the mic. Captivated by the reality of rap, there became a thin line between, reporting the bad shit & promting it. Again, the Man saw profit in it so they gave the bad guys endorsments (ie crooked I malt liquor). This made them very rich. By now, the good guys are dying out because they either join the dark side to feed their babies, or because no one is interested in peace and equality anymore, rather drug abuse & gang violence. The MAN didn't give a shit, cause it wasn't his peoples. They made a lot of doe, and when the artist fell off they were swallowed by debt. Years go by and the man has a good idea, since barney rapped, " i love fruity pebbles iin a major way", hip hop sells, fuck if it's done right or misrepresented. so everybody gets in it to make money, if it's not makin money, it must be wack.
The one thing rap artists could never do, is crossover, a r&b term for a genre of music to attract another fan base...do this, an d your album will do 3-10 million units/ hmm, the man never planned it to influence his own seed, but like I said if theres money to be made, he's in it, so now you have Eminem, limp biscuit kid rock, in between genres of white and black. Eminem is the most successful rapper ever, and he just so happened to be white.

Before you think I'm prejudice check your facts, and then call it.
