about copywrite winning the ROC the mic contest, it was filled with battling and the winner would have a contract to join ROC

I've was at the Rock The Mic concert last night, and I knew there was an underground cat named Copywrite that I've heard on projects with RJD2.... so when I saw this dude Copywrite perform a song on the first stage of the event prior to the concert I was thinkin "Naw, this can't be the same cat" He ripped it obviously, don't know what the name was, but it was off hook.

Then he battled this black dude name Skyscraper right before Jay-Z came up to perform. Skyscraper was dissin him with some "cracker" jokes like "You might as well get in my belly/ Cuz I eat crackers with peanut butter and jelly" and numerous Eminem comparisons. Then Copy got up and ripped dude a new asshole... most notebly "Funny you call me Eminem cuz I wouldn't sign you for 50 cents" and "If you a skyscraper I'm the Taliban flyin and airplane" After that, Skyscraper was booed of stage by the crowd of thousands and Copywrite was cheered into being welcomed by Kanye West as the newest member of the Roc a fella army (atleast thats what they said before they battled, that the winner would be signed).

his contract might forbid him to do tracks with underground emcees and only mainstream.. wich would mean deseretin Weathermen, and all the dope underground cats...

I acully think Copy gots some talent, but It's gonna be odd to see him coming from the backback crowd to try to appeal to the street/commercial appeal that the Roc is known for......

yeah thats pretty much the prob with underground hip hop.

cats say they are for the morals of the shit, then when loads of money comes into the picture it just totally fucks things up. sorta a catch 22.
