question to the literate

IP:

i'm just curious as to what types of books you read.

Also if you have a recommendation, glad to hear it.

As for me, my reading selection spans pretty broad. I'll read anything interesting, from bios of Dahmer and the like to Steinbecks classics... Lately I've been into government related books as well as activist studies.

Recommended read:Things fall Apart- Chinua Achebe, An Occurence at owl creek bridge- Ambrose Bierce, Dante's inferno... should I really keep going?

Cather in the Rye - JD Salinger

if you like cather in the rye see the movie (based on a play) six degrees of seperation... Staring Will Smith (not a comedy)

*edit*
To The End

Hmm... i don't really read on my own, just books we've had to read at school. I like Steinbeck and Fitzgerald the most. The Grapes of Wrath and The Great Gatsby, and the ones already mentioned.

Personally, I thought the first seven or eight or so Tarzan of the Apes novels were the shiznit.

But I'll read generally whatever is good assuming I'm in the mood. But like, books are weird that way. You could be told this one book is a classic and everyone should read it, and have it turn out to be a peice of shit. But, you can also grab a book aint no one ever here of, and have it mean more to you then anything else.

Personally, I think the old testament, new testament, kuran, book of shadows, etc. etc. are all good books to read.

Crucible <--- its a play but i really enjoyed it..even the movie
Brave New World <----- stylish and very futuristic...pretty interesting over all.
The Great Gatsby (already mentioned)<---- I liked this a lot.
Catcher in the Rye (same)<----typical stuff..very enjoyable to read. Its like living the life of each of the characters.
Lord of the Flies <----- damn well written in a way. It was worth my time reading this. Its very adventrous
Harry Potter Books <-----ive read them all except the 5th one.
Their Eyes were watching God <-----somewhat good.
Stephen King ones. (Tommyknockers, It, and RoseRed)

Well way way way back i usually like to read those Sweet Valley High books. they were kinda amazing to me because way back then i was imagining being like american stuff and such...but oh well..those are just some of the books that ive read so far excluding some stuff that i read a long time ago that i cant remember anymore.

but yeah..thats it.
