Exclamation Fruity Loops problem!

IP:

I just started making beats with Fruity Loops but it always turns out sounding like techno instead of rap/hip-hop. Anyone have any suggestions to what I can do to fix this?

do you have flstudio 4 or fruity 3..cause theay changed the name of the product for some reason but..if you have flstudio 4 pro edition theay have this thing called a slicer...now with that you can upload samples, like say you go buy you a classical music cd..
you take what sounds you like from that cd..make minute samples of theam...and upload theam thru the slicer..if
you slice it at 1/8 it'll brake that sound down into little pieces of that sample probably up to 146 times...you just make a patteren out of that and follow it with nice hip hop kicks and snares and high hatz...the key to a good rap beat is rhytem..flow of the beat..
set your tempo at about 89 to 95 and fuck with the drumz...try this and holla back

as far as samples go, www.loops.net, endless amount of links for samples and loops. The first thing i did after i got a hang of using fruity, i got a whole new sample library. i had about 1000 samples before my comp crashed. And personally i dont like fruity any more since i've uprgraded to acid and Cube but appearantly this new FL Studio thing is good. Its all bout what ur preferences are but yeah mos def get new samples and try to use a new sample everytime u make a beat PEACE
