City Life During "war"

CITY LIFE DURING "WAR"

I open the door, the rain is pouring, birds are soaring,
car engines roaring,I see people with boxes and realizes its food they're storing.
go back inside and sit in my chair, turn on CNN and its MR.Blair,
talking 'bout protecting the world from nuclear warfare,
switchs subjects to iraq and the war there.
its 10pm BUSH is on 20 channels mumbling on,
while miles away the war is rumbling on,
tired soldiers and hungry civilians are stumbling on,
hoping to get to safety but when they get there its gone.
american tanks have destroyed almost every iraqie city,
and what do the people of iraq get...nothing, not even pity,
Bush says "we are liberating them from the saddam rule",
but instead its a blood bath...no wait a blood pool,
when innocent americans die BUSH says "NO WAY",
but when its innocent iraqies thats "OK".
as long as they get Saddam, the head guy,
it doesnt matter how many women or children die,
but what do i know im just watching T.V.,
im not a victim,or a soldier,im just me.
sitting here watching the war unfold,
sitting here watching this war get old.
All of this started on that faitfull day of 9/11,
when thousands of innocent people went up to heaven.
then the "war on terrorism" began but when will it cease,
when will Bush realize the only answer is peace.
when...when will he realize that you cant fight war with war,
when...when will stand up and say "THATS IT, NO MORE"
that time wont come, because Bush is a power hungry being,
power, money, oil, fame, thats all he's seeing.
but what do i know im just watching T.V.,
im not a victim,or a soldier, im just me.
sitting here watching the war unfold,
sitting here watching this war get old.
it's now past 11, time for bed,
as i lay down my head,
i think of all the people that now are dead,
mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters even friends,
my praying wont stop until this war ends.

old poem i just thought id post it
