MC means master of ceremony. People are said to be MC'ing an event, they are the ones standing up talking and running the show. Like how Chris Rock MC'd the MTV awards. This term made its way over into rap music. The MC was usually up on stage supporting his DJ, not the DJ supporting the MC like it is now. Slowly the MC became what it is today...the emcee. Who can forget Kool moe Dee battling Busy bee and ripping him up on stage while bussy bee was back stage thinking everything was cool?
