my advice is take the best 10 outta that 20 and distribute them . that way you havent used everything and you will still have 10 more song's to fall back on...

you have to think of a game plan, your first mixtape or album that is actually in distibution will be either free or sold extremly cheap. It is kind of your advertising album. Not to make money. just to get your name out there into the company's. So dont use all your shit str8 away. because once you drop that first tape. you could get a call at anytime saying...
"xclusive we just heard your mixtape and we at ........ record's think you have somthing, would be interested in meeting with us to discuss a deal of some sort"
Then that's when you take your other shit that you allready have made into a mixtape. That way you can show them your serious because you have more than what they have heard.

So you pretty much never no when that call will come. You gotta stay ready.
