but theres just flat out no reason to give up ortiz right now, unless your getting derek lee, your not giving up ortiz...there would be no point
and the only reason they're even considering letting manny go is because he wants to..
if he didnt want to, there wouldnt even be any talks about him going anywhere, hed stay on boston no questions asked, and the red sox main trading deadline focus would be AJ Burnett like it should be right now...

basically, the only way out for manny is him requesting to leave...otherwise no team would want to let talent like him go
the only problem with him is his massive contract, teams have fallen appart because of one players contract, just look at texas when rodriguez was on it...not to mention theres only a handfull of teams that could actually pick the damn thing up

Ortiz being overrated in your eyes.AT home in fenway, with all-stars battin infront and back him,he a hall of famer. But away....they guy is nothing. If he was still in minnesota...he'd be hittin 20 hrs 80 rbi's.Boston makes guys better.

Right now..schilling ain't doin shit.Sox offence would be good with or without Manny and ortix. They need to balance they shit out.And trading them both for Pedro is good.AJ Burnett may have good stuff...but he can't control it.He is a Kerry wood type.Good the stuff...but not the stats.

Plus the Mets can handle that Manny contract easy.

how the fuck did the mets get all this money?
it like, came out of nowhere....pedro, beltran, now manny? damn...

but ortiz aint overrated one bit
hes a great player, period.
sure, if he was in minesota...his RBI numbers would probably be a bit lower, but be real...they wouldnt be halfed
minesota is a good team as well, not the same offense as boston, but a solid offense..
now if he were on say the Royals, his numbers may be dramatically different...(still over 100 RBI's) but going to the Royals is carreer suicide for any player

ortiz isnt overrated
sure hes got the rest of boston to hit in adding to his RBI's...but you know just as well as i do not anybody can come through in the clutch like him...

NO....that's how big the impact of SOx and YAnks have.Aside from always winning...that's the reason people want in their teams.Ortix's # would have been a lil above half.Maybe 85-90 rbis and 25 hrs..He wouldn't have 40 hrs and 150 rbis in Minesota.

AND why mets got all that money
...It's ny...biggest fanbase.Everyone go to they games even when they losong.ANd one reason they can take manny without worrying..is cause Piazza's 17 mil/yr. countract will be expired at end of season

^^true as far as the mets shit goes
but i dont think ortiz's stats would be 90RBIS and 20hrs in Minesota...but we could go on for ages about those and never really get a real answer so w/e...
anyways, im off to bed...if i feel like arguing a bit more over ortiz in the morning ill holla, lmao
peace
