ooooohh thats a weird question. In my opinion it isn't. It is however an urban music as is rap but R & B isn't an element of hip hop.

so in short: no!

?

Don't make this bout skin color, all I was asking is if you people thought R & B is part of hip hop. With so much of R&B in rap now, I am thinking that it is starting to become part of the hip hop culture.

arrrrrrrrrrrgggggggghhhhhhh

i seriously hate the term urban when regarding hip hop and RnB

its almost as if they ain't got time to stop and give a shit about it so they just chuck it all into one category, don't get it twisted viva i ain't tryna get at you cos you safe to me still

but i'd say yeh RnB is now a part of hip hop as hip hop is becoming more and more versatile as time goes by, for example people like Neptunes putting rock guitars n shit in their music. Nearly any other type of music can be fused with hip hop and it'll still maintain as a hip hop tune.

I'm saying its urban music because it is urban music, it was made to reflect streetlife in inner cities hence the name urban.
