I never really had a problem with the emo kids in high school, some of 'em were actually pretty cool people. But hey, I guess that's just what I get for not judging people.

There's a black emo rapper. Murs, from the west coast group The Living Legends. His 2004 album "The 9th Edition" (production by 9th Wonder) was regarded as one of the best hip hop albums of that year. And it really is.

and who was it regarded to be the best hip hop album to come in 2004 by?
especially since;
Kanye West, 2pac, Fabolous, Ludacris, TI, Jadakiss, Twista, Jay-z, KRS One AND Cam'ron all dropped an album in 2004.

Pretty much every review of "The 9th Edition" I've read has called it either the best or one of the best. And Dead Prez's "RBG: Revolutionary but Gangster" album was better than pretty much all you listed, except maybe KRS-One's.
