i was thinking about gettng a PSP.....becasue on teh commercials it looked pretty cool......but i've had two friends who both sold theirs...but them two had playstations 2 and xboxs and they found they played them consoles more...but me...i dont' have either one a ps2 or xbox....
so i was thinking maybe i could hop on this when i'm bored or something...and plus it has that wireless interent......just about everyone in my neighborhood has wiereless internet so i can stroll down the block posting up threads like these on RV..hahha

but for those of you who own one..or at least used one...let me know if its worth dropping 200 big faces on a PSP

Mad Dog musta just got unlucky, cos i've had my PSP since launch.

It probably won't be easy, but see if you can find one with firmware version 1.5... why?

Well its what I have.. And I've got every single PSP game ever released in US, Japan, and Europe. I can play snes on my PSP... I can play arcade games, nes, megadrive, sega CD, GB, GBA, even N64 (N64 not very well, but in a few months a better emulator will be out). Theres countless applications you can download and use. Ranging from notepads to internet radio to apps that let you use your PSP as a remote for your TV... And a shitload more.

But thats firmware 1.5, which is very hackable. Later versions are kind of dissapointing... Although 3.0 is coming out soon which will have PSX games (that you have to pay for), GPS, Camera, Improved Flash support etc...

Basically, it's worth the money depending on what you want to do with it. If you've got enough money to buy a PSP you have a few options:

- Buy a PSP... Theres a shitload of good games for it, and even better games coming out this year. As well as all the other shit it can do.
- Buy a DS/DS Lite... If fun games and excellent gameplay is your thing, go for this instead of PSP.
- Buy a PS2... Its almost next gen so PS2 is cheap and its library of excellent games is unrivalled.
- Wait a while and buy a next generation console. PS3 will be expensive as fuck, but if you have the money then go for it. The Nintendo Wii wont be as expensive but will be a shitload of fun and well worth the money you pay for it and how much you will get out of it... Probably the truest "next generation" console.

I downloaded all the games and I put whichever ones I feel like playing onto my memory stick. (1GB)

The browser is pretty shit at the moment actually.. It has a lot of memory allocation issues, and the input method SUCKS. It's real hard to type, takes a long time to load etc.

I dont really even use it because 1.5 doesnt have the browser.. you can download a few different browsers though i've never bothered. If I need to browse the net I can do it at home... No need to be on RV all the time -_-.

If you want a portable for a browser go with the DS. An official browser is being released for it soon... And touchscreen + Nintendo's efficiency will mean a fast, reliable, easy to use browser.

version 1.5 damn playboy u gotta upgrade ya shit, anyway psp's are great. Although i dont have one yet, i noe almost everything. The games are rediculous and u can d/l emulators to play games for other systems. When version 3.0 comes out u can use instant messenger on it and the web browser gets better
