E.C, you need to tweak your ears better, trust me, im partially deaf, and still have a good ear for music and even i can hear that the mic isnt up to what people claim it is.

yea but think... quality depends on people mixing.. i cant mix for shit n my tracks don't sound tooooo bad levels are off n all that. but for £70 i think its worth it...

or... you can get a condenser mic, say £120 then u need the lead, £8-£10 then u need phanton power £25- £££ call that £155...

to kids thats alot of money init.. but it'll b ill quality

money wise samson all the waaayy.

Put it this way. a mic like the c01 makes it HARDER for someone who's nice with mixing to get sweet sound out of the vocals.

cheap mics have lower ceilings. put it that way.

if you puttin out CD's then trust me, it takes more than that... my setup is very basic, but quality is good and my mic is decent enough for producers to work with effectively, i havent found one yet that says they like working with the samson.

for the price its one of the best condensors out.


Just so you guys know, quality does not depend on your mic. trust me. i know.


it took me a year to figure this out. it doesent matter if you record with a fuckin MXL 990 (an OK mic), or a fucking $5,000 neuman mic - it depends on your equipment. I.E. Preamp is VERY important to bring out the character of the mic.


Mixing can make ANY mic sound listenable. REAL mixing and mastering at least.


is probably not the best mic in its price range, but its not supposed to be, its supposed to be the best USB mic. which it is. BLUE has one thats pretty dope also, never heard it tho.


and for you guys who dont know to much about setups. the samson is for PORTABLE projects. such as people with laptops who record in many different places. its not meant to be a replacement in your home studio/studio setup.

take it for what it is.
