What's that tax rate or w/e it's called...

IP: 6402 E2AC

like what is it called for the tax that gets taken off your paycheck or shit. Like if I'm workin' and I get a paycheck, like some money goes off for taxes. Where can I check out what the rate is in Massachussetts and shit?

Depends on your tax bracket...

but...I think for an average middle class american...it's more than 20% but less than 35%

In that range...

yeh tax codes. Its simple set on how much your anual/yearly income is, depending on what amount bracket you are in, depends on how much you get taxed.

So when you fill out a tax return you gotta know what "code' you are.

I thought I'd be somewhere like 22%, but apparently I only got 15.5% taken out of my paycheck. I didn't claim any exemptions on my W-4 either. So uh, good luck.

Socrates posted the federal income tax rate brackets. You can find MA's tax rate here: http://swz.salary.com/salarywizard/...taxrate_MA.html
