Whats the big deal? What is so special about this game besides its graphics?

The game is FUCKING RAW!!

The gunfights on it are amazing... especially if you play it co-operative. Plus man, finally a fucking game with some decent blind fire so you don't have to keep popping up and fucking exposing yourself.

Not to mention.. if you get up close for the kill you can rip the shit out of them with your chainsaw bayonet weapon. Or if they are down and wounded you can curb stomp them which is pretty cool.

The next game I'm getting is Rainbow Six: Vegas..

I have heard that the gameplay is stale after the novelty of the graphics and all that wears off... And also that the cover system although cool, is very flawed. And that the story is pretty mediocre, and also there is little replay value save for multiplayer and online, and no extras.

I mean I've only played it for 15-30 minutes, and don't get me wrong, its a good game... But the way people are treating it and hyping it up so much, I just dont think its worthy of all the praise. I have reason to believe its just the fact that the graphics are so damn good that has made this so hyped..

I've heard it being called "the new halo." Which is pretty funny, since halo was kind of the same. A good game elevated to legendary status for some wierd reason, even though it was just a well-executed FPS, like so many others.

I've played it quite a bit... and my honest opinion is that the game is excellent. But, it is probably only a game you can play one-off through the story. The action does get a little repetitive. The cover system is amazing I think, because even if you ain't right up to a wall you can use it and your guy just dives into the wall for cover. The cover run is also a nice touch. And how you can dive from spot to spot whilst remaining covered is decent.
The cover firing can get annoying sometimes, because if you've got an enemy on the opposite side of your cover and you fire at him.. sometimes it doesn't hit him. Also, the fact that the enemies are practically invincible sometimes annoys the fuck out of me.
I also think that some tweaks could've been made to the A.I. of the enemies because at times it is brilliant. Like, if you throw a grenade they all run for cover.. and if they are out in the open and get shot at they dive for cover. But, some enemies just come gunning for you despite being shot at from like four different angles.

I still think the game is killer.. but I wouldn't say it is deserving of the praise it is actually receiving. A lot of magazines and shit are calling it the "BEST GAME EVER" which I think is bullshit.
