^^forget UK Hip-Hop, Roots Manuva in his own way, is as good as anyone in hip-hop period. Some don't even call it hip-hop it's such a brilliant fusion.
This may sound like i'm getting on the man's dick, but i don't usually give out so much respect for an artist. But this guy just kills it, in so many different ways. He's an even more esoteric and diverse artist than those who you'd call the same in US, it's a shame that people will probably not be able to appreciate his work as much as it should be...even thogh he's done stuff with Phaeroe Monch, Rza and Chali 2na...and is respected (if not seen as distant and hard to understand) in many parts of the underground... Seriously, listen to his stuff, download if from Kazaa, or go to bigdada.com and get some samples of his stuff. |
