Textcees have to write more ... Cuz it's not listened to ... So U have to write deep shit that'll keep readers' interests ... Where as in Hip Hop Writers don't need to do all that ... well... if your simply a writer, than you have more chance of being better lyrically than a vocal MC... but no matter how amazing your lyrics are, it wont mean shit if you flow like a ape... Eminem is prolly a better writer than most people on this site... but you'd have to hear infinite to know that... unfortunately he dumbed down after his underground days, but hes still better than most people... it all depends... the most amazing writer of all time was prolly someone like Shakespeare or something, but he wasnt vocal, yet he would get props for wordplay if he just updated his english a bit... but tell him to rap... the first response youd get after "whats rap?" would be "i cant"

and then you got 50 cent who can flow with monosyllable rhymes but is a hopeless lyricist

if eminem came on RB i bet yeh some people could beat him, but any audio head or textcee to lay a track and bring it out i think for sure that they would not make half as many records he sold when he first got signed...so being able to write text and do battles good doesnt meen u can lay a track and make a album and sell...its too different things..u cant compare the two

I agree with the person who said it's not what em says, it's the way he says it. He's got a really unique rappin voice.
I also think a lot of us could write a battle verse a lot quicker than him too, coz we're used to it. I think in text a lot of us could beat him but in audio I think very few of us would beat him

Yes...but say someone on RB...had all the hype EM had
before droppin his ish...then it would sell, just like em...
In the music industry...its all about looks, sound and
money....there's no attempt at quality, unless your talkin
about production quality control...

1st...the futre 'star' is spotted, approached....he/she
will then get all excited..your manager is then roped
in by the agency w/ money (most managers are money grabbers)
The manager gets his cash and rights...then the agency draft out your contract....
The artist signs (almost everytime) and is left w/ a contract
legally binding...giving the agency complete control of your
music...how its presented...and how your presented...
To them you are a product...and they want to sell you..
..it doesnt matter who you are...as long as you sing/rap/play instrument or w/e
They pick out someone who looks right...because they believe
the public wont buy ugly peeps albums (alltho we would)
even if 500 kids said i wont ugly boy...they'd refuse...
because they are arrogant and ig'nent....the other reason
is they cant make as much off you for say..clothe's advertising

All that is needed to sell an artist is backing...by backing
i mean lots of cash...which unfortunatly...means..less space
in the market for Quality lyricists, vocalist's and instrumentalists

give the artist enough hype...and they will sell

yo Eminem wouldn't be stupid enough to waste his talent on text battles... and I think that it's easier to be a text writer than a good emcee... you can write something witty as hell but the flow would probably sound like shit... and some flows don't use complex wordplay or vocab and the flow is off the hook... and Eminem is a much better writer than most peeps that text - period. Any one who thinks otherwise is just plain nieve

listen to I'ma soldier by Em... lyrics, flow off the hook. Listen to Infinite by Em... you got to attach mental images to your lyrics with intelligently written and delivered rhymes that draw the person into your song... and you got to have flow.. personally, I don't think anyone that takes text seriously is real emcee anyway. Give me a mic and I'll freestyle - you can write whatever you want and try to spit it - and I'll murder you. Text aint shit

No, your just another of Eminem's growing groupie's thinking he is one of the greatest in hiphop, when you havent even heard many underground head's, you know their names, but truthfully - you don't listen to them in depth. If you did know a thing, you'd notice his flow isnt that great, lyrically he isn't that great and the only reason he is as succesful as he's been is due to good marketing and publicity.

You have nothing to base your opinion on. One of the best ever? No. Maybe one of the most succesful, yes .. but he is far from the best. A lot of his success is due to the hype surrounding him and the way he's marketted, how can you not see that ? His recent appearence's on collab's and such have been sub par, the Can-I-Bitch track was probably his worst attempt to date and the upcoming D-12 track that leaked was weak even by their standards.
