"Nimrod" was the name of a child of a human and a fallen angel who later became the effigy of "satan" wit the red gear and horns that you now know of. He was a giant (like 8+ feet tall) and is said to posess supernatural abilities identical to what Jesus had and a bunch more of his own - According to the bible anywho. How it became slang is beyond me.
