This may be an unpopular view...

But, I don't believe the Government hesitated as much as people are making it seem. The hurricane hit on Monday. Relief efforts started on the local level immediately, followed by government help. All of that was within days of the tragedy. THink about it. This natural disaster was the worst in the history of this nation, with possibly 10,000 killed. It just seems like the government isn't doing enough, but they are. To say people don't care is to say the military who are down there aren't doing their best, which they are. Perhaps George Bush doesn't care, but that doesn't mean everything that can be done isn't being done. The city is basically empty. Some people chose to remain there even though they were warned days in advance that Katrina would hit. So, if anything, the Governor and the Mayor needs to be held to task. This is terrible situation in which no one person can be held responsible.
On another note, Kanye West did say what most people think. However, Bush probably doesn't even know who Kanye West is and sounds like this, "Can yay WHO?" Holla |
