This movie was excellent. I found it amazing that they were able to show emotion from that creature, and even more amazing how he could interact with the lead actress in an almost tender way. The special effects were some of the best I've ever seen. And, that's saying alot because I've seen thousands of movies in my lifetime. I generally liked the pacing of the movie, though Kong didn't make an appearance until an hour or so into the movie. At one point, I began to feel like the director/writers were trying to tap too much emotion not only from the beast, but from the audience as well. The movie takes its toll. There were concerns about Jack Black playing the role he played because of his comedic background. However, I saw no issue with him being cast in the role and felt he did a good job with it. I was amazed at how they recreated 1930s New York. All in all, this was an exellent movie.

I rate it 3 out of 4 stars.
