In Need Of Some Help.

Im playing my playstation online and i keep running into some problems.
People are telling me i need to contact my ISP. But the thing is ... i dont know who the fuck my ISP is and where i can find the number. My step dad hooked the internet and shit up,so im clueless about that shit. Any suggestions?
