Black History Month

Black history is a whack mystery I’m in it with precision
But have a limit of vision on how to celebrate it through religion
We can groove holy but must move slowly when covering
The fact and discovering the acts that bought us here hovering
Above our heads like helicopters are the words justice and truth
Shook with scriptures now look at pictures of slain civil rights
Leaders had to cry bad to die for a god given gift but have to fight
A poor democratic system which ignore the dramatic wisdom
Of black knowledge and whack colleges were segregated, communism
In effect for us couldn’t even protect a bus of school kids criticism
On skin color tend to smother equality and fair policy left us in limbo
Even Pharaoh being a black king done a whack thing and enslaved
his black brothers and sister yes we’re the true Jew being brave
Search through desks to clutch the rest of the facts I paid attention
But afraid of dimensions examined books as famines shook conventions
And land
