I'm not gonna stay on this because it's off topic. This thread is about blaming god for the "bad things" in our lives. I don't see what homosexuality has to do with anything. BUt, no it's not the same as lust. When a man sees something that sexually arouses him, the physiology of his actual erection is beyond his control. Because we are rational beings (or at least we like to think so) we can mentally force ourselves to think about other things. However, the biology of my body is mostly beyond my control. You could put a heat pack on my penis and it'll get hard. That has nothing to do with lust. It's all biological. That's what I'm talking about. And, no, "churches" don't make a big deal about homosexuality. Some homophobic preachers do. For the most part, it's actually avoided. There is a big contigent of people who deal with homosexuality. But, it's taboo to address outside of the usual, "God says it's an abomination." Meanwhile, those who struggle with it continue to struggle with it because people aren't willing to be mature and discuss the issues. |
