It's easy to say, "God, I'll die for you" when you aren't facing death. The early Christians were burned alive, buried alive, tortured, hanged, beheaded, crucified, and a lot worse--if you can imagine. Before Jesus was betrayed, Peter said, "Lord, I'll go with you whereever you go, even unto death." Jesus then reminded Peter that he'd deny him at least 3 times that very night. Well, I feel like I'd die for God. My faith is strong in that area. I don't fear man in that area. I feel that someone who is out to do me harm should fear me because GOd is on my side. But, to be honest, if someone put a gun to my head and asked me if I was a Christian, and said I'd die if I said yes, I don't know what my natural reaction would be. On the other hand, I might stand up and be bold for God and be willing to die.
