They arent flopping cause they are wack (in certain cases) its simply because less people are buying albums these days.
With internet being a gateway to free music plus rap music selling out, People no longer support the culture, basically because 80% of the culture doesnt support itself.

The candy ass bullshit music being made and sold (I.E, Chain hang low, P diddys collab with pussy cat dolls girl and ALOT more) is basically a stab in the back to hip hop culture supporters.
They basicaly saying we idiots and will buy anything they throw at us.
Seemingly alot of rap music fans have stabbed back and simply download the music instead of wasting there 15 dollers on bullshit no essence, non-creative bullshit music.

All in all, rap music isnt dead, its more or less about to be given a reality check.
