I'm not sure how many of you are aware of the bills being passed by the senate (USA). The most recent is that illegal aliens can now attend college tuition free. They do not have to establish residency or give up their illegal status, they can attend school without paying a dime. I bet this will really cap immigration.

Not only do I pay for my tuition, but now I'm paying for someone elses?? When they passed the bill to allow illegal aliens attempts at driver's license I wasn't bothered much, hey let them drive. Now my money is going to some bill to allow those a college education, the same college education i'm struggling to pay.
This is not an attack on illegal aliens, but bills are getting passed like this and society is blind they'll take it out on the receiving versuses the government. This is personal, the government is to blame. In California, all public colleges recently took the blow of an increase in tuition. Yet, the financial aid system has remained the same, not changing any of its guidelines. Many people were able to afford schooling with government aid before the increase, but now I find myself thinking, well shit they want to raise tuition they can pay for it. But of course I don't qualify almost the entire mid-class doesn't (I did an expose on the financial aid system at my school alone for my journalism class. I applied several times under different monetary values- 10G-40G and out of 14 apps. I qualified for 3. the school refused to put the story in the newspaper and I was suspended for several days) . They've strategically setup the aid system that those who are in need of some assistance don't qualify, you have to be scrape to get by and let's face it majority is not exactly rich but minimum wage and cost of living in CA don't really balance out.. I'm thankful that my business is taking off and that I still have scholarship money, but others could even use small amount of money to pay for books and such, and now they have to shell out money so another could go to school free. If it was based on scholastics I would be fine with it, but it's based on immigration status.

We're a democracy, the people participate in the governement. This happened and will continue to happen if people don't put there two cents in. Instead of having a post-discrepency this should have never been in question. There are other things that should take presidency. I am an advocate for literacy and education, but when I'm cheated of mine theres something wrong. Come on people, get involved.
