Sandy Balls

IP:

Welcome to Sandy Balls, Holiday Resort.

Sandy Balls is named after the dome-shaped sand and gravel outcrops on the slope that forms the western boundary of our Holiday Centre. The best examples are Good Friday Hill and Giant's Grave.

We can trace the name right back to the reign of Henry VII, where it appears as 'Sandyballas' on maps and documents. The spelling had changed to 'Sandyballes' by the reign of Edward VI.

From 1919 to the present day The familiar Scots Pines that grow so abundantly at Sandy Balls and which help to shape today's Holiday Centre, were planted as a timber crop in the late 19th Century. They were saved from the axe by Ernest Westlake's purchase of the estate in 1919.

Generations of the Westlake family have been welcoming guests for more than 75 years, offering accommodation of the highest standards and quality that is second to none. Sandy Balls' approach to the whole holiday experience is totally unique.

Those who happily return year after year will enthuse about its naturally beautiful location, and tell you, without prompting, of its warm and welcoming atmosphere.

Designed to provide the perfect holiday Bordered by the beautiful River Avon and set in 120 acres of woods and parkland, Sandy Balls is a wonderful holiday experience, providing everything you could wish for in a Summer vacation or year-round break. - http://www.sandy-balls.co.uk
