Poetic Presence
It is an undeniable part of my essence
To spread my poetic blessings
Sometimes I get self righteous
And present myself as almighty and pious
But the truth of the matter
Is that im just another mental hazard
I write things that I feel are deep
Straight from my soul with honesty
But the problem is Im misrepresentin’ myself
I possess the very same dreams of grandeur and wealth
I wanna be on Shady Records with Eminem and 50
I wanna sell a million, but can my ethics come wit me?
I fear for the fate of my morals
I’ve seen these stars flip over petty quarrels
Could I really be that different from these other mortals
Figures in heaven watch is gaiety, exchanging heavy chortles
The human plight is a life without foresight
We’re forced to act on instinct, we don’t really think
We just call ourselves a thinking species, we’re really on the brink
We perform what ensures our survival
Just now we have society, no more clans and tribal bands
Our lives are just a result of circumstance
We’re at rest now
Nobody is forcing our hand
Im not presenting myself as a man with a plan
I just understand the plight of man
Moving on, as I digress, from my purpose of this
I change subjects maintaining lyrical bliss
I have yet to enjoy the sweetness of my first kiss
I have yet to feel the softness of a woman’s lips
I have yet to caress her body’s many clefts
I have yet to brush the fullness of a single tress
I have yet to inhale the passion of a single breath
Exchanged in embrace
Man and woman, face to face
I long for the beauty of my equal
Love perfected
Adam and Eve 2, the long awaited sequel
But alas, I spend myself fighting evils
Blasting ignorance with my words, until I’m feeble
