I researched dude, and ya'll are hatin on this guy with NO KNOWLEDGE... Dude helped SO many people, and I don't even think it was this picture that made him commit suicide. He led a crazy life. A write up of him/bio is here:

http://www.thisisyesterday.com/ints/KCarter.html

a quick quote from another article about him: But he also lived with the demons familiar to all those whose profession makes them witness to horror. "I am haunted by the vivid memories of killings & corpses & anger & pain . . . of starving or wounded children, of trigger-happy madmen."

I'm not saying suicide is right, and I'm not saying I wouldn't have helped the kid out either, but know what you're talking about before you say something lame, about something you don't know about. word.

I must say that it looks like that kid has spent a little too much time on the treadmill.

It's the job of the nature cameraman to not interfer with the events taking place.

For all those about to say "So what it's his job, dat shit is fucked up yo!", that's the reason why you kids aren't in that profession.

but still, he could've come back as a human being, or something...or at least tried.

but if its his job, why'd he kill himself? its a paradox

Because he served his purpose as a photographer - he captured as much as he could on film, and had a highly prestigious award to show for it. After his purpose was over, he felt he would set things right with those he was unable to help in the past. It's natural for people to be haunted by past experiences they're not too proud of, and he just found a solution to it.

suicide isn't a solution to anything...if he fullfilled his duty as a photographer, he could've went back to help, suicide is not helping anyone

Imagine how many things die because a photographer cannot interfer with nature's course. He simply brought upon himself what his career had brought upon that little boy...death.

true, but i still believe suicide would justify that, just because he cannot interfere...death is natural, i was a little too rational saying he should've done something, but how do we know his depression was cause by this photo?

If that photographer gave the kid food, the kid would have died. His organs are fucked, he couldnt have digested food or even drank a glass of water...

What the photographer could have done is stick a tube into the kids anus, and give him water through the tube... then feed him tiny bits of food until his organs recover a bit.

And if I was the guy, I wouldnt do that either...

But I guess its fucked they didnt give him a lift or something.
