what exactly does this guy do?....why do so many people respect him and love him and all that?...all I ever see him do is stand out his window and wave to people..lol...or walk around shaking hands and shit...how is he so loved...what does he do?...I dont see anything so special about this...do you?

He served God and being a "pope" is a high position, he dedicated his life to God at all times. He got shot and survived and then blessed the person that shot him when they asked for forgivness
THAT is why he is so popular ^^and you should put THAT in your sig! The pope is the leader of a religion that spawned from christianity in the middle ages and lied to all of its followers, making them believe things like "you must make donations to the church to go to heaven." When people actually started reading the bible for themselves, they broke away from that church. Thats why theres so many different types of Christians today.
But anyway, what does the pope do? Nothing too important. He's kind of like the Queen of England; Everyone is supposed to give a shit about her but she doesn't do jack.
