But back to the issue at hand: Something small and aporty for 4k USD is a Miata. They have a HUGE aftermarket, but their engines are pure virtually unmodifiably repsonsive turds. If you're looking for something different than that, you could always go for a 5.0 (which is gonna be the best bang for the buck PERIOD if you want something powerful), you could go for a DSM, like a GSX, those things are a riot and you can modify em to all hell and back and they respond well to em. Other shit for aroudn that moeny that's sporty and modifiable isn't a whole lot. From here it's either gonna be fast and ugly, or slow and pretty. Er
