Well,they care becuase UK is populated with whites.And by Common saying that,it kinda makes the whites look inferiour.And then that could also be taken as a knock on the country as a whole.

So..while common is a US rapper..he still promotes his album,performs his songs,and sells his shit in UK.So for common to get money off these people and then turn around and say this,it makes him look ungrateful.He still needs sales in the UK.It's not like the people there don't matter to his career

Why would people care about what a rapper thinks?Because of the influence the have on culture.People follow what these rappers do.And also,whatever a rapper says,it will be heard by the masses.And then people will get offended.Offended enough,that they'll get to the point where they can't ignore it.This whole "rapper means nothing" has been talked about countless times.Like it or not,as a rapper,they need to watch what they say.And Yes,it is just his opinion.But sometimes opinions need to be kept to yourself.Common should have kept his mouth shut.If common said that about my race,I'd get mad too.
