Lol yea I figured something was up. I think the only people who only refer to them as being white, or people who aren't white. Someone asks a dude who isn't white, what culture the white guy is, and he'll say "Oh, he's white" kinda the way a white dude would be like "he's chinese" even though he prolly korean or "oh, the black guy?" and he's Haitian you know. Meanwhile all the other chinkers know dude is korean, all the black guys know the guys is Haitian and all the white guys know the guy is Russian. That's just how the world is I guess

oh, and as far as this whole "why are blacks called colored thing," its very very simple... see, there's this thing called hegemony, which is the dominant ideology in a society. whites are that dominant ideology. by the very means in which that hegemony operates, every other ideology is oppressed in some way, some more than others. whites were CERTAINLY the dominant ideology when that phrase came to be, so therefore anybody who wasn't white was "othered" and considered to be somehow inherently different, and less normal... whites needed a way to identify blacks as being that "other" group, so instead of being "black," which is a powerful individual identity equal to "white," they were just "colored"... "the others," if you will.

At least thats my educated thought.
