FAIL. It was a 5 point game in the 4th quarter against Texas A&M that year.

Texas A&M outplayed Texas that game. KILLED them running the ball. KILLED them in time of possession. But, they killed themselves with costly penalties. Texas had 4 fumbles and an interception...as did Texas A&M. A&M led at some points in the game....more than you can say about any team against Alabama this year.

Texas struggled mightily that game. try again sir.

I don't know why it never came to me. The 2000 Oklahoma sooners. Their only close games were to top 5 teams. They beat the #2 team TWICE, and the #1 team right after whooping the #2 team. then also the title game of course.

then also, the 2001 Miami Hurricanes. Again only close game to a ranked opponent

word...my point is just that noone every cruises into the national championship. Every team can be beaten by any team on their schedule..no matter how highly ranked they are. I wish Alabama could just do an MC Hammer jig into the BCS..but uhh..it just wont happen. lol
