I used to read ALOT when i was younger, not so much now though, however we read novels and shit quite a bit in English Literature, 'Lord Of The Flies', 'Great Expectations', 'Jany Eyre' etc..

Also The Usual plays and stuff, 'Romeo n' Juliet' etc... When i was younger i read alot of story-type books, secret seven and shit when i was 6 or 7, then i got onto more factual things.

As i said, i rarely read a novel now.

·Everything by Charles Dickens. One of my favourite authors ever.
·Edgar Allen Poe's stories and poems, even though their "short stories", I have the 'Complete Works Of Edgar Allen Poe" book...so yeah.
·Stephen King, great for horror. (It, Tommyknockers, etc.)
·John Irving - Cider House Rules (I haven't read it yet, but I own it and its on my "to read" list.
·Anne Rice - Her books on vampires, I have a couple, also on my "to read" list.
·"Go Ask Alice" - Anonymous. Great book, loved it, have it, could have sex with it (LoL, joking).
·"Prozac Nation" - Elizabeth Wurtzel. On my "to read" list...damn I got a lot to read.
·"Kingdom Come" - Jim Hougan. The book I'm reading right now, its pretty good, he's a mix between the older style of writing, and the new (less intriguing/complex/thought provoking) styles of today.

Oh...and in a year or two be on the look out for something by me...all I have to do is get it going, I've been so busy recently.

Most of the books already mentioned are required to graduate high school. OK

Tropic Of Cancer - Henry Miller - One of the best cult novels ever.
Cry Of The People - Will show you what really goes on in Latin America due to US policies.
Peoples History of The USA - Zinn - Will show you what we really did to get were we are as a country.
Ficciones - Jorge Borges - Dont really know how to explain this one, but good book.
Junky, Naked Lunch, or pretty much anything by William S. Burroughs

I only read one book this summer

It was called Monster....Finsihsed it in a few hours becuz it kept me reading. Very nice, but set up as a movie script. Nice read though...

Other Books I have Enjoyed...Tom Sawyer...Edgar...Havent Gotten into Shakespear yet, thats at the end of this year...Cuz im only a Freshman.....

I read very few books. Actually, haven't read one in over a year. I can remember reading 'The Crucible' in English class. I also read these short stories by Jumpa Lahiri. Animal Farm is good. I vaguely remember this fictional book of Irish life in the 50s or something. A poor family or something. Wait...Reading In the Dark by Seamus Deane. Was my sisters i think, i robbed it off her. Read that 2 years ago, and it now sits on my shelf with some other books. Half of which i haven't read.

Romeo and Juliet (the play, like the Crucible). Midsummers Night Dream, also a play.

There's probably others. Tintin (which is a comic really, but in book form, kind of...) is the one that stands out for me. I dunno, it's simple fiction. Quite a lot of parodisation or whatever.
