mainstream:
1/ Pac
2/ biggie
3/ eminem
4/ nas
5/ jay-z OR rakim

underground:
1/canibus (i hope he still counts as underground)
2/ copywrite
3/ aesop rock

i cant really decide from the other underground ones.. most of them are equally dope in their own way

its all about preference guys...some people may not know who Big L is and some may think chingy is dope..its all about personal preference thats all..so just becuz someone doesn't mention your top five don't mean they dont know shit about hip hop or rap music..it just simply means they prefer to listen to these particular artist and therefore consider them the best...
