50 Cent isn't overrated. Nobody says he's the illest emcee out there. He is a good rapper. He puts out catchy hooks, and he has a good flow. He writes average lyrics, but they work for what he wants to accomplish.
D12 isn't overrated because nobody ever said they were the illest group ever. It is a no brainer that Wu-Tang is much more skilled. But if you actually break down D12's rhyme scheme for the most part, it is fairly complex like eminem's. They are better than many think, their track concepts are just played out and weak. "My Band" was genius. Nothing else on that CD is.
