exactly....but i think rap sells more because of the type of music it is....not saying that all rap is the same, its not........but you look at the shit that sells the most, example, gunit....and for the most part, that shit aint good, but people listen to it because everyone else does, and for the most part, i think people get into rap because its more rebellious, and they feel more "badass", you know, cause you look at the kids growing up these days, theres a whack load of violence and what not....and alot of shit, i think, is influenced alot by music........but thats just my opinion, i listen to both, but not as much rap, nothing really mainstream

good observations in your post, but I can't agree with it that rock is more tame than rappers..rap iis made to be more "glamorous" than rock is and right NOW, in our generation, the rockers that are popular now have seen what their fore-fathers in rock did, where they went wrong trying all kinds of drugs and shit and most avoid that that's why rock doesn't seem as "bad ass" any more, cuz that genre is older than rap and it's evolved from that at this point...but shit, 15 or 20 years aGo, before rap even existed, in this country ROCK N ROLL was the music that America loved to hate and thought was causing their youth to do the things they did and believe what they believed, just like people try and blame gun violence and things as such on rap now...to me, rock will always be more bad ass than rap..cuz they have actual MUSICAL talent...they play instruments and it's actually about the music with rock, with rap, it's all about the beats, people like 50 are popular so it's obviously not even about what the FUCK rappers SAY anymore...we may as well just say "FUCK rap" and have CDs with just beats on 'em cuz that's really what the people that are buying into bullshit like him want anyway...
