church is a community...most churches have events and activities for the members, including meetings and discussion groups. It can be a great social as well as spiritual outlet, which is it's main intent.

No, but I don't need to go to church to feel like I'm in a community. I feel like I'm in a community at school, with my friends and stuff. We hang out, chill, whatever.. I don't need church to be a community to me too.

Jesus was always on the street, ministering to the people... church is more than just the hour worshiping service every week, thats why just watching it on TV or something isnt an excuse... with my church we're always having fellowship and doing outreach, not necessarily trying to convert anybody, but helping people... being involved in the church organization helps to get involved in helping in homeless shelters, and all of that kind of ministry that you cant do on your own... at least thats my view on it.

wait...why u even gotta get that deep? Church sponsors cook outs, basketball/golf outings, retreats, youth events...it's a social outlet for many people...

Yeah, that just seems stupid to me. I can help people without attending church. I can volunteer to do stuff for people without following the church's made up rules as to what they want you to do to get to heaven.

I think it's good enough to just be a good person.

I have never gotten anything out of going to church except the knowledge that I just missed the end of a few NFL games.

dang, well out here NFL starts at like 1 when you get home from church, cuz we're normal... word

but anyways, you cant experience the same type of fellowship or ministry without out some form of organization like a church.

I love my church because of the fellowship and love I experience everytime I attend an event with anything related to the church family... its not spooky at all...
