How can you say Mos Def sucks?How can you say Talib Kweli suck....let me break it down you suck...First off The South is just the typical rap....they just rap for the money of it not the art of it....They make tracks just to get money from it...that's why all their shit is just the same formula and shit....I admit I listened to some Pastor Troy shit he has some nice meaning in his shit...but he is wack....The whole South to me is just a gimmick you know?They make the same shit...all their rappers sound the same....Cunninglyguistics are the only real mcs from the south....The east coast would shit on the South anyday of the week....They got far better mcs that are lyrically higher than the South....Mos Def,The Arsonists,The Eastern Conference Allstars,Talib Kweli,Wordsworth,Shells,Graph,Cassidy,Jae Hood,Canibus,Jedi Mind Tricks,PackFm,Tonedef,Krs-One.....and the list goes on...would merk the whole South....

I don't like the mainstream but Jae Hood is one of those up and comers in the East Coast...only other south rapper I like is Skillz

Ok, I'm from the fuckin' south and I realize that a lot of the rappers down here are garbage. The only southern rappers I like are Luda, Scarface, Outkast, Trick Daddy's new shit, and Mannie Fresh and Baby can get in a wreck and die in one of their rides for all I care but I like Lil' Wayne's newer shit and some Juvenile songs. Besides those artist I named the southern rap scene is pretty much garbage. A lot of rappers have terrible lyrics, uninteresting topics, and try way to much to be hard in their songs. Thats why I listen to more West, East, and Underground rap then any southern shit.

Yo the south, the east, whateva yo, there's good rappers from all over the place.

Talib's beetle juice lookin self is a talented rapper, and Lil Jon's talent lies in making people buy tha club tracks, a true entrepenuer.

Some rappers are smart, some are dumb, some like to be real, some don't, and some just like to get paid.

What you judge music on?

Originality?

Creativity?

Crunkness?

Sales?

Complexity?

The smartest people use the simplest things to get the most out of things, like cheese. Think about that for all those hating on the South.

For all those hatin on the East, admire the attempt to say more educated stuff. But music has NOTHING to do with intellect. It has ALL to do with expression.

Music is expression.

How much the rappers express themselves is what counts toward if they are a good rapper or not.

^but this is a discussion on a hiphop board. we don't judge music by how much money it makes. we judge actual mic skills. Personally, I admire hiphop that shows well-rounded musical talent. If I listen to your shit and know that I can do better without even tryin, then i dont respect you as an emcee. If you have no content or nothing to offer lyrically then youre not a good emcee.
