will: here... i have to do this quickly, so it is hardly in-depth, but you know.

[Canibus]
Yo, why is the ripper so ill?
That would be a unpardonable breach of confidence for me to reveal!
He said one day all eyes would be on me

He claimed that he had written the greatest rhyme of all time
but he would never take it out his archives
He wrote 2 songs per day
and was constantly was experimenting with his wordplay
In his youth he did a report on the Sloan Digital Sky survey
he got an F but he deserved an A

---again, dope, if you know the reference.
I followed his career from the first day
it seemed the lack of support contributed to his inert ways
I seen him pull in 24 hour workdays
with deferred pay, undeterred by the word "shame"
Public humiliation was the worst pain
he was spinnin out of control like a class 5 hurricane
He said he wouldnt want another emcee to suffer the same

I came to holla at some big booty bitches
and listen to the speakers thump, where you get conceited from?
Im so nice on the mic, they wanna beat me up
its deep as fuck, I aint seen it all but I've seen enough
Really unbelievable stuff
theres a lot of times where I wanna speak but I'm stuck

thats like me telling myself dont tell me what to do
Dialyses and analyses of battle emcees

Yo, I meant it when I said no one can shine on a song that features me
thats why I said it so vehemently
You need to place the hate with respect
I'm probably the best yet, Poet Laureate!!!

thats all i have time for... but pretty much every line has a meaning of the same kind.

Granted, it is definitely NOT aimed at your average audience. Probably without looking things up people wouldnt understand a lot of the song. But if you can comprehend all the meanings, all the ill wordplay, and all the concepts, it is a very deep song.

like I said, the song isnt wack. lyrically its nice, but its not deep.
3 sides to a story - Joe Budden is deep.
Whatever it takes - Joe Budden is deep
Poet Laureate -Canibus is not deep.

and did someone "attack him" physically or lyrically"?
cos if he was attacked lyrically, and he claims he got stuck, then thats a damn shame
and he was attacked physically and he didnt rip off their hands with the crown still attached to it, thats a shame

Maybe we're talking different "deeps" here. I mean deep as in the song has a lot of hidden meanings and the experiences he is talking about are emotionally moving. The actual lyrics in the song are "deep."

Maybe you mean deep like immortal technique's dance with the devil? Its just a story, but its very well told. Theres no underlying meanings and hardly any wordplay, the meaning of the words is apparent. What makes songs like that deep is the themes being addressed and the events that take place.

I havent heard those budden joints, but they sound like they would be the second kind of "deep" that I mentioned, when with canibus, im talking about the first.

So because you wrote an essay on a song, that makes it the "deepest" song ever? Dawg, that logic doesn't add up. I'm sure you love the song, but writing an essay doesn't qualify it as the best "deep" song ever.

No.. He said that cause it literally is one of the deepest songs ever written..

Anyone who ACTUALLY is an authority on hip hop and understands what this song is about would say the same thing...

This is right up there on the same level with "Immortal Technique - You never know" and "Common - I used to love H.E.R."...

If you say different.. YOUR NOT HIP HOP....

Your whole perspective of jay Z being dope is jus funny to me... Its cause your a fan and you got a real case of seeing past serious short commings cause you idolise this cunt....

I have listened to a lot of songs in my time. Its maybe not the deepest in its subject matter, but I mean deep as in meanings.

The way he used historical figures, and other dope shit as allusions in wordplay, ive never seen in another song. Even the songs the beats were sampled from mean something.

Im not saying because I was able to write an essay on it, its a deep song. Anybody could write an essay on anything. Im saying its a deep song, because it is.

^^^Exactly, anyone can write an "essay" on anything. That doesn't validate its importance. Also, calling something "deep" is relative son. I haven't actually heard the song so I wouldn't know. But, what I do know is that education levels and experience can dictate what one perceives as "deep" or not. I'm not suggesting anything about your education level. I'm merely suggesting that someone who isn't worldly would think mundane things are "amazing".

Self explanatory

Every warrior has an axe to bury
but he has to learn to discern between enemy and adversary
Talking about when he dissed eminem, Eminem was down at a press conference and he was saying that he respected Bis's lyrical skill but Canibus took some of his comments as shit talking and his insecuritys played a big part of why em and bis started beefing.. Hes saying that he should of not been so quick to diss back cause he didnt think before he spoke.. He essentually "had to learn to discern between enemy and adversary"...

I said to myself, "Germaine this is insane
its suicide its controlled flight into terrain"
I fought to regain, control of the plain, but went up in a ball of flames
and got banned from the hip hop hall of fame
For 2 bars I kept hearin in my head
over and over again, it cost me everything
This is where he is talking about being booted off Def Jam and being cut from the hip hop hall of fame. The bars in the question were "I am the illest nigga alive, watch me prove it / I'll snatch ya crown with ya head still attached to it". He said it in a battle against LL Cool J and LL took it to heart and saw it as a personal diss and that started beef which ofcourse eventually ended up with canibus being booted from the label and def jam began to pay off radio stations to not play his songs and a bunch of other bullshit..

And this doesent even scrape the fucking icing off this song.. There is so much to the song that you wouldnt understand if your a naieve ass cat that only likes hearing dumb shit about "hustlin and poppin caps, rings, rims" and other bullshit that average ass clowns like Joe Budden rap about...

You can call me un-intelligent.. But its pretty clear you got no idea what your talkin bout when it comes to hip hop.. I repeat.. Stop talkin buddy..

You can call me un-intelligent.. But its pretty clear you got no idea what your talkin bout when it comes to hip hop.. I repeat.. Stop talkin buddy..

BLAH
I did what you did
I schemed through the song
it was majority NERD RAP. He spits less then 20 bars out of 1000 and all of a sudden the song has meaning
and that snatch the crown punch wasnt the one
it was the get the mic off LL COOL J's arm punch
see, and PLEASE you cant go on ANY OTHER SITE and talk like this.
too bad RV is filled with a bunch of white teenagers I cant get anyone to back me up.
regardless, Joe Budden DOESNT rap about the stupid shit you're sayin he raps about.
And sayin he does shows how much you dont know what real hip hop is
